An interactive session was conducted 7th December, 2023 by the speaker Mr. Anthony Beliyil, Director, Blue Whale Shipping & Logistics Pvt. Ltd., which was really appreciated by the students. The evolution of logistics from earlier times to its recent times and how the gradual transformation took place was discussed by the speaker and our students noticed this interesting transformation with great enthusiasm.
During the MDP on 8th November, 2023, the presentation by Prof. S. P. Kothari, MIT Sloan School of Management, Boston USA, delved into the transformative trends shaping the equity research and asset management landscape. Key themes included the rise of passive investments, the growth of alternative investments, the increasing importance of ESG, and the impact of technological advancements on portfolio management. The session provided valuable insights for senior executives to navigate the complexities of the modern financial ecosystem, emphasizing the need for adaptability, innovation, and a focus on sustainability.

Prof. Jahangir Sultan, Bentley University, Massachusetts USA, his session explored the strategic role of commodities in diversified portfolios. By incorporating commodities into investment strategies, senior finance executives can enhance portfolio resilience, hedge against inflation, and improve long-term performance. The discussion provided actionable frameworks for optimizing commodity allocations, balancing risk and return, and navigating market volatility.

Management Development Program (MDP) themed “Global Trends in Equity Research and Asset Management,” organized by Allana Institute of Management Studies in association with UTI AMC. (India first mutual fund company) Attended by senior executives from leading mutual funds and brokerage firms, the MDP offered interactive sessions on investment research and techniques.

Report after the Event :- The program began with the National Anthem, followed by Welcome speech by Dr. Lukman Patel Mr. Anupam Srivastava addressed the students about the importance of taking up entrepreneurship and only with hard work and perseverance one can achieve the goal.

Ms. Priya Iyer briefed the students with the support being provided through various schemes under the Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) schemes.

Mr. Vivek Lokhande detailed various State Government Schemes for MSME , He told students to avail this facilities given by the state government these schemes. High Tea was arranged for all the participants M0r. Sunil Khujnare briefed the students about the support being provided by the MSME DFO. Ms. Priti Yamdagini motivated the students and conducted various exercises for knowing one self and to take up entrepreneurship as a career. Two students shared their experience and learning about the entire one day program. Dr. Lukman Patel anchored the whole proceedings of the day and presented the vote of thanks.

Event: FDP on Mutual Funds Insights

Speakers: Dr. V. R. Narasimhan, Mr. Malik, Dr. Rachna Baid, Mr. Ritesh Nadwani.

Learning Outcomes:

During the FDP on Mutual Funds Insights, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles underlying mutual funds. They explored various types of mutual funds, including equity, debt, and hybrid funds, and learned how to assess their performance and risk profiles. Attendees engaged in discussions on investment strategies and the importance of asset allocation, as well as the impact of market trends on mutual fund investments. Additionally, they acquired insights into regulatory frameworks and best practices for selecting and managing mutual fund portfolios. By the end of the event, participants were equipped with practical knowledge that would enable them to make informed investment decisions and effectively communicate mutual fund concepts to others.

Event: Career Counseling

Learning Objectives:

A.I.’s Allana Institute of Management Studies, organized a Career Counseling Program for the first year students on Saturday, 30th July 2022.

The program was inaugurated at 11 am by the Director of AIAIMS, Dr. Bernadette D’Silva, amidst the presence of all staff members and students of AIAIMS.

The Program witnessed participation from over 100 students from the First year MMS (Batch 2021-2023).

The program was open to all students of the MMS program. Students participated with thrill and enthusiasm throughout the day. The event was a great learning experience for all students.

The guest speaker Prof. Gita Sashidharan listed out the various specializations offered and also the various career options available to the students in the private sector. The speaker also gave an overview of the career options available for management students in the public sector enterprises

Event: New Normal in Marketing- Get Future Ready

Event: Ramping up the supply chain post covid.

Speaker: Mr. Arshad Shaikh, Manager, Supply Chain Operation LULU International.

Learning Objectives:

Understanding Supply Chain Resilience: Participants will be able to identify key factors that contribute to building a resilient supply chain in the aftermath of COVID-19 and analyze case studies of successful adaptations.

Risk Management Strategies: Participants will learn about effective risk management strategies that can be implemented to mitigate disruptions in the supply chain, including diversification of suppliers and inventory management techniques.

Collaboration and Communication: Participants will understand the importance of collaboration and communication among stakeholders in the supply chain and how to foster effective partnerships in a post-COVID landscape.

An interactive session was conducted 17th October, 2024 by the speaker Mr. Wilfred Menezes, Director, Athena Global Logistics Pvt. Ltd., which was really appreciated by the students. The session consisted of the evolution of Supply Chain Management, how it has progressed in India and the developed Nations, the future of supply chain and the job prospects for those yearning to join the Supply Chain and Logistics was discussed. Mr. Wilfred explained the details of Warehouse Management to the students and the different activities handled by a warehouse and also how the warehouse business has been evolving in recent years.
An interactive session was conducted 28th August, 2024 by the speaker Mr. Bharat Khatri, Director, Logenix International Pvt. Ltd., which was really appreciated by the students. The evolution, types, dimensions and working of the containers were discussed at large and how it has transformed the shipping and logistics industry was highlighted. Queries raised by our students were responded to their satisfaction.

Established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), NISM is a public trust that engages in a broad range of capacity-building activities aimed at enhancing the quality standards of and increasing participation in the securities markets. Under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Certification of Associated Persons in Securities Markets) SEBI (CAPSM) Regulations, 2007, NISM is tasked with:

- Conducting mandatory Certification Examinations for associated persons of securities market intermediaries.
- Offering Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs for these individuals.

The training program will include practical sessions on topics such as Stock Selections, Simulation Trading in Equity, Simulation Option Trading, Derivatives Market, Option Strategies, Commodity Market, Valuations, Careers in Securities Market, Accounting & Taxation of trade, Technical Analysis, Securities Laws related to trade, and the legal & regulatory environment, among others. It also features a certification exam on "NISM series VIII - Equity Derivatives", which will be scheduled later based on student availability and preparedness at our AIAIMS Test NISM Centre. Successful completion of the NISM Certifications will enhance employability in the capital market industry, as these are often required by companies for placement. Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation and, upon qualifying, the NISM Series VIII Certification.

The annual Urdu book fair, popularly known as Urdu kitab mela, will hold its 26th event at the R2 ground, Bandra-Kurla Complex between January 6 and 14. Anjuman-I-Islam Allana Institute of Management Studies organised a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the theme of “ Business Case Writing and Solutions” on Saturday, 13th January 2024 at 10.00 am. The resource person for the FDP was Dr. Ankit Katrodia, Associate Professor, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, Mafikeng Campus, North West University, South Africa.

The welcome speech was given by Dr. Lukman Patel, Associate Professor, AIAIMS and the Coordinator of the FDP and even introduced the resource person.Faculty Development programme was organised with a view that it may enable the participants to develop rich business case studies that can be taught in Management Studies curriculum. Case based teaching is a dominant pedagogy in management education and there is a constant need to develop case studies that are relevant.
This FDP aimed to help participants learn the various nuances of business case writing. This would help the faculty members develop case studies across diverse management domains that can be incorporated in the curriculum of management.

The faculty members can develop the case studies by focussing on any discipline of management education, such as strategy, entrepreneurship, marketing, organization development, finance, and operations management, along with other faculty members in a group.

Faculty members would understand how to write high-quality case studies that can be used as an effective pedagogical tool in class. Depending on their quality, some of these case studies could be published through prestigious case-publishing outlets. A compilation of high-quality cases may also be published as a book as well. It is expected that the case studies would be developed by the faculty members inline to their teaching and research interest. The FDP focussed on developing case studies and their associated teaching notes in a hands-on manner.

The program was well appreciated by all the participants and the vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Bernadette D’Silva, Director, AIAIMS.
